ANNA GUILLAIN DRUMS
About
I always wanted to be a drummer. Before I could even talk, there’s video evidence that I was kicking and banging along to music practically all the time.
Thankfully, despite the lack of space in our home and our close proximity to (lovely) neighbours, my parents got me an electric drum kit and lessons with Steve White (Big Boys Music, Witney). Steve is a fantastic drummer and teacher and took me from how to hold drumsticks to grade eight.
I joined my first band aged 15 and am currently studying at Leeds Conservatoire. I’m lucky enough to have worked with some amazing drum teachers, including Mike Glozier and Caroline Boaden. I’ve played over a hundred gigs, including at iconic Oxford venues such as the Bullingdon, the Jericho Tavern and the O2 Academy – as well as many Oxfordshire festivals.
I’ve recorded with Nick Moorbath at Evolution Studios as well as with a range of artists studying at the Conservatoire and other institutions in Leeds. I drum on a Pearl kit with Zildjian cymbals (sweets), which I love, play all styles and genres, and enjoy writing unique drums parts.
